History of the Lincoln Nautilus

In 2019, Lincoln debuted the Nautilus as a fresh take on the midsize SUV. The Nautilus fills the spot of the bygone MKX, and takes the automaker in a modern direction for luxury SUVs. A long list of standard features showcased its luxury status, with modern conveniences such as a Wi-Fi hotspot to integral safety tools like automatic emergency braking.

The MKX was offered as Lincoln's first crossover vehicle in 2004, and it showcased its high-end quality with the 265-horsepower V6 engine. Through the years, Lincoln upgraded and enhanced the MKX with highlights including voice command and satellite radio arriving in 2008, Sirius Travel Link in 2009, plus an upgraded engine and exterior in 2011. The SUV was fully redesigned in 2016, and the maker continued to update the SUV until the it passed the torch to the Nautilus in 2019.
